PERFECT PRAIRIE PICNIC

When my sweet friend Janie, told me a few months ago she was planning a picnic during Round Top Antiques Week at her sister's gorgeous piece of Texas prairie, I immediately told her I'd be there with boots on ready to go!
Janie and her fabulous Rodeo Queen sisters had invited Sweet Girl and I to her Prairie Picnic last year. Our picnic last year consisted of individual baskets filled with delicious treats shared with our new friends under an inky canopy of glittering stars across the big ole Texas sky. It is still a precious memory.

This year Janie and her wonderful friends pulled out all the stops again. Another incredible Prairie Picnic and another one for the precious memory category!
Our Prairie Picnic Hostesses: Andrea,
Cherry, Janie, Cecilia, Mary, and Cat.

A pretty table full of flowers, pink Petticoats
on the Prairie Vintage Market glasses, and yummy eats.
The meadows were painted
 in bluebonnets and wildflowers.
Vintage aprons hanging on the barn must mean it's Prairie Picnic time!
Our cute picnic boxes held tasty chicken salad and ham
sandwiches, chips, and individual caramel apple deserts.
In addition to the good eats, each box had
 a handpainted rose/menu tag. Cherry
Hoback, owner of the Dragonfly in Colorado City, TX,
painted each one. They were lovely party favors.

This cheerful table complete with
a Prairie Picnic menu posted on a
vintage hymnboard greeted us.

Janie crafted these beautiful candle holders by wrapping
them in lace and embellishing them with vintage bits and pieces.
Janie had a place for my books--just in case
anyone needed to pick up an autographed copy!
I count myself lucky to be among such a fabulous group of women.

Janie's sister, Linda, (in the adorable patchwork dress)
was kind enough to share her piece of Texas prairie with us.

This piece of Texas prairie couldn't
have been a more perfect setting.

After the sun went down the laughter and
chatting continued into the starry night.
A truly magical, perfect Prairie Picnic.

Peace, love, and all the really good picnic eatin', good friends laughing, glittery star filled-sky-wonderfulness to y'all!!

Next time--Junkin' at WARRENTON/
