FROM PORTLAND TO THE PRAIRIE

Hey, y'all! Portland to the Prairie? Surely, I've lost it for real this time! Well, that may be true too, but here's how I met the Rodeo Queens and ended up as a vendor at their great vintage market on the Texas prairie.

It all began a few years ago at Funky Junk Sisters Junk Salvation Vintage Market just outside of Portland, OR where I met the Rodeo Queens of Petticoats on the Prairie--Texas boot-wearin' girls meeting for the first time in Oregon. What a hoot!

This past March I was fortunate enough to be a vendor at Petticoats on the Prairie Vintage Market in Waxahachie, TX. And this past weekend, I finally got to see why Flea Market Style magazine rated POTP one of the "Best Vintage Sales."

In between the wonderful hospitality of the Rodeo Queens and good folks of Colorado City, there was also a round-up of decked out vintage trailers belonging to the awesome Sisters on the Fly, as well as more than 70 incredible vendors from all over the southwest. I even got to meet SOTF author, Irene Rawlings who has a new Sisters on the Fly Book coming out--Cooking in Cast Iron with Sisters on the Fly.

Next up, we're super excited to be vendors at the 5th annual Rusted Gingham Barn Sale, Friday, November 2 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Peace, love, and
all the good stuff to y'all!

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PRAIRIE LIFE

Hey, Y'all! Last week I posted about the awesomeness that is Marburger Farm Antique Show, Round Top and Warrenton. So much wonderful junk! So many wonderful, cool people! So much creativity! So little time. My friend, sweet Janie of Petticoats on the Prairie, and I were invited (personally by Rachel Ashwell  herself!) to attend a signing of Where Women Create magazine at her beautiful

bed and breakfast, The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell. Of course, there is also a lovely Shabby Chic Couture shop on the premises.

Sweet Janie at the Shabby Chic Couture Shop.
I've been following Rachel since she got started and have all her Shabby Chic books in duplicate just because they inspire me so much I needed one for my office and one to pack for road-trips.

Here's a few peeks around her lovely bed and breakfast, The Prairie.

Such beautiful bliss on the Texas prairie...even the sunsets are gorgeous!

Hope to see y'all down the blacktop, sweet friends.

Until next time,
Peace, love, and
all the good stuff to y'all!

FALLING FOR ANTIQUES WEEK

A fun arrangement by Carolyn
Westbrook of Carolyn Westbrook Home.
Hey, Y'all! Yesterday was one of those perfect days I often find myself dreaming about--it's finally cool,  the leaves are just taking on a hint of color, the sky is huge and turquoise, and the twisting Texas back roads lead me to endless fields of tents, friends, and lots of fantastic stuff--Junker's Paradise!! It was opening day at Marburger Farm Antique Show complete with a book signing by Rachel Ashwell.
The one and only, Rachel Ashwell of
Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture.

It was also the day of the official Blog Party hosted by Theresa Cano.
